Parenting Your Teen – an opportunity for parents in our local community

Parenting Your Teen aims to help parents of young people aged 10+ to tackle the challenges that come with raising teenagers.  An expert facilitator will guide parents through a range of topics which include setting rules and consequences, teen development, dealing with conflict and problem solving.  During each session, practical support will be provided and there will be an opportunity for parents to share experiences and hear from others in a similar position.

Through Employment East we have established an employability link with Mount Charles.  Mount Charles was founded in 1988 by former pupil, Mr Trevor Annon.  Mount Charles currently employees around 2000 employees and offers a range of services including catering, cleaning, vending, security and support services.

The Credit Union in school is open every Wednesday (Week B) from 8.30am

What is the Credit Union?

Well, the Credit Union is a bit like a bank in which you can borrow money from them, if you’re an adult (18+) then all you need to do is setup an account and you can borrow for a new computer, car or a holiday!

Ashfield Boys’ win Techknow challenge 2018

A team of young coders from Ashfield Boys School have scooped the Techknow challenge 2018.

The teams consist of four students and one teacher who were this year given the challenge of creating a website based on one of UNESCOís Sustainable Development Goals, Affordable and Clean Energy. Thanks to the kind sponsorship of AllStateNI each member of the winning team was rewarded with a Kindle Fire and some Amazon vouchers. More…
