Every year the World YMCA sets a challenge for every YMCA around the world to work together to do something big to celebrate the YMCA’s birthday.  This year YMCA celebrate their 174th birthday and to celebrate Ashfield Boys’ pupils and staff (174 of them in total) ran a distance of 1 mile to contribute to YMCA’s cumulative target distance of just over 75,000 miles.

Employability Link with Mount Charles

Through Employment East we have established an employability link with Mount Charles.  Mount Charles was founded in 1988 by former pupil, Mr Trevor Annon.  Mount Charles currently employees around 2000 employees and offers a range of services including catering, cleaning, vending, security and support services.

WW1 Battlefields Tour for Jay

The past came powerfully and poignantly to life for Ashfield Boys’ High School student Jay Martin recently as he made a pilgrimage to the World War 1 battlefields of Belgium and France.

Jay is pictured paying his respects at the Pozieres Memorial which bears the names of 14,657 British and South African soldiers of the Fifth and Fourth British Armies missing or killed in action from March to August 1918 during World War I.

What is the Credit Union?

Well, the Credit Union is a bit like a bank in which you can borrow money from them, if you’re an adult (18+) then all you need to do is setup an account and you can borrow for a new computer, car or a holiday!

A team of young coders from Ashfield Boys School have scooped the Techknow challenge 2018.

The teams consist of four students and one teacher who were this year given the challenge of creating a website based on one of UNESCOís Sustainable Development Goals, Affordable and Clean Energy.
