Carol Service 2018

Our annual Carol Service is always a big event in our school year, as this is our opportunity to get out into our community and celebrate the festive season. This year we were delighted to be hosted once again by Belmont Presbyterian. The Reverend Craig and our Board of Governor, Reverend Rankin led the service. Our service began with our Head Boy, Nathan Jones reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas. Our readings were excellently delivered by Year 11 pupils Kyle Reed, Tiago Marques and Year 10 pupil, Ross Craig. Reverend Craig delivered the message that Christ is the light in our lives and reminded the congregation that we need to remember to seek light in times of darkness. Six year 8 pupils recited ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ with great enthusiasm and energy and looked suitably festive in their Santa hats.

The music during our service – the hymns, the solo performances, ensembles and of course, the choir were fantastic. The boys in the choir were joined by female members of staff for a musical performance of White Winter Hymnal. Mr McColgan noted the absence of our male members of staff and has urged them to step up next year and led the way with our choir next year. Only time will tell, if his Christmas wish will be granted.
